The purpose for having a large-diameter tip is for sound only? Wouldn't think a tip with a larger diameter than the upstream part of the exhaust would have any power benefits. Something I've always wondered about but don't really know.

There are replacement tips available on the aftermarket that are bolt-on or weld-on that have a 3.5" inlet to fit on the factory rear exhaust section. However, none of these options are vented to cool down the regen temps.
Happy to discuss replacement options with any of y'all if you'd like. Feel free to send me a PM.
