Cruise Control Woes

Hi.
2000 F350 7.3 PSD, crew cab, lariat.

PO didnt know what he or his mechanic was doing and hacked into the steering and air bag wiring, when changing a clock spring.
I bought the truck with no cruise and am looking to set this puppy back in cruising fashion.

Does the wiring from the cruise buttons carry data or is it a standard 12 volt positive negative?
Would like to repair without having to purchase anything more expensive than a few connectors.
Here are some pictures of hacked wiring on cruise control buttons to airbag. Please give me some advice on what is needed to set this up properly.
FYI I installed a new clock spring, as per VIN.

Thanks and this forum is the best!

Verify that 3rd brake light bulb is functioning. If it’s bad, CC and TC lockup will not work.

Ok. So the last pics are the wires from buttons/switches on the steering wheel to the clockspring plugs?

Not exactly, they connect airbag (left side) to CC buttons.

According to this schematic its not the right plug the PO used. Schematic indicates a 5 point pin plug and this is a one point.
Also, PO fused wires prior to one point connection.

Maybe if I bypass the use of a plug and join wires correctly I could get this working.

Yes, but no plugs means cut wires to remove steering wheel.

Agreed, will try to craft something up to connect-disconnect and see if it works.
