‘01 F350 cab chassis 6spd (my dually). 460k miles on it now.
Wipers will only come on in ‘high speed’ and will not turn off in any switch position. When the key is cycled and wiper switch in any position but ‘high/fast’, the wipers will park like they should. The ‘wash’ button works and when activated, the wipers and wash pump function like normal. (Spray and a few swipes)
No stored codes.
I have changed the multi-function switch and the wiper motor and no change at all.
GEM problem??? Is it possible to re-flash it with IDS or something else??
Since the power cycle parks them, I would lean towards GEM.
Personally, I would replace, even if a reflash is feasible and works. I believe the Dealer is the only place to flash them, though, and for that trouble, might as well be installing a new/rebuilt unit for the effort.

I have a local friend with IDS - the software Ford uses. We can ‘flash’ all of the modules with that.
There is probably a GEM or (3) laying around here that will work in my truck. (It’s not ‘hoarding’ if everything is for sale! )
Dont think I have ever heard of this problem. It started over a year ago, but my truck only racked up 5k miles last year, so it has been tolerated...
With those resources, if one has the same GEM code, flash the "spare" and swap 'em. That way, you can always go back to the "devil you know" if something goes wrong with the flashing process.

I guess you understand why I don’t want to change it. This is the ONLY glitch I have now.
