This is the first I've heard of it. If the trailer had a lousy suspension then maybe it would help a bit. The eTrailer web page doesn't say anything about it, but I wouldn't expect that to be rated for use in a WDH. None of my ball mounts would work with that ball.

It's solving a problem that I didn't know I had. It could be helpful to tame some of the small clunks felt while trailering, but I can't imaging buying one. The clunks aren't that bad.

I run a similar "cushioned" hitch when I pull a small trailer that attaches via a "farm wagon" style. The trailer has a forked tongue with an upper and lower fork with a hitch pin placed vertically through the upper fork, the ball mount hole in the hitch, then the lower fork. Not unlike a pintle set up in that there is play at the hitch point and much banging forward and rearward. The cushioned hitch is supposed to isolate your rear diff from all that impact.
But I don't see a real advantage with a ball hitch as there is far less, if any, forward/rearward impact.
