Spark knocking 93 5.0
i have a 93 f150 4x4 5.0 w/e4od i noticed unloaded the tranny lugs the engine a bit before it would down shift and i can hear a little pre ignition going on. i load it up witha 3500lb trailer and run it thru the hills it sounds like someone has 3 or 4 hammers rapping under the hood. i thought the trucks had a knock sensor to pull back the timing???? i scannned the computer, but it didnt give me any faults. Increasing the octane does help, but the premium gas prices are back up to over 1.80 around here. the truck has 99,000 miles on it and seems to be running well unloaded it gets 18.5 mpg on the highway so is this normal or what??
