I'd LOVE to see how scientists explain "invisible friends" or "make believe friends" that the majority of kids have. How coincidental is that? Is it a glitch in our brains when we are little? Does the brain give us a holograph friend?

What about that famous news story about that classroom that caught on fire years ago. I think it was a K or first grade class back east. The kids were told to stay in the center of the room. When officials got there, the kids said the angels told them to stay in the center of the room. It was reported that the walls had sillouettes of ghostly people burnt into the walls. ALSO, one little girl was interviewed, saying a woman was there. Her mom brought a picture of this girls grandma she never met. The little girl, said that was her. Anybody else remember the whole story?

In my opinion, I think kids can see relatives or people that have passed on. I saw my stepmom outside the funeral service while walking to the truck (it was dark). Also had some other things happen too.

I'm with you, I am fascinated with what happens when we pass away. However, nothing scares me most, than the exorcist type stuff.

My house creeps me the heck out. It was built in 1765, and I live alone in the country. Sometimes I'll wake up at night and i'll hear voices, floorboards creaking, sounds of people calking around, doors opening and closing, etc, etc. What really weirds me out is sometimes i'll smell food cooking from downstairs. Good thing I've got the magical blanket that keeps me safe.

p.s. I'm not the only one to hear/smell, sometimes guests experience this too.

Man this thread is really creeping me out.

My property (approx 100 acres) has 7 to 10 old stone foundations all spread out through out the property, apparently there was a small settlement here in the mid 1800s but a bad winter drove most of the settlers away.

I've noticed that I always feel like there's always someone else around, no mater if I'm in the house alone or working out in the bush or fields with someone, I still feel like there's another presence other than us. Occasionally I see small unexplained arcs,*****,flashes or bursts of light day or night.

]Same goes for my neighbour ( 1 mile east ) he also has some abandon foundations on his land. He's mentioned seeing these odd lights and also having the feeling of someone always being around. He's even gone so far as to have his eyes checked just because of these lights. These odd lights or what ever they may be almost seem like a hallucination, their quick they don't hover or do anything weird there just some times there then their gone. I haven't looked or thought too far into this, I just live with it.

hmmm, what a appropiate thread for Halloween !
I think somewhere a ways back, this topic came up and some good advice was given by a clergy. I think it was said that the "spirits" or entities, or whatever one may call them, really shouldnt be messed with. It is believed that when one really gets involved in that sort of thing, they are opening up their own "energy" to be receptive to communications with them, and that in itself, may not always end up on the good side of the fence, so to speak. So it read like there may be friendlies, and not so friendly Caspers out there in the ether land. I personally have had it proven to me that there is "something" else out there, so am not really inclined to search any further, I'll just be a spectator . I feel safer that way, I dont like dealing with things you cant see, but gives you goosebumps, and makes things go "BUMP" in the house with no explanation for it,

I believe in ghosts. I have had "unexplainable" encounters since I was 3 years old.

I won't relate any stories but the best way to find ghosts is not to look for them. If you are already psyched out about being in a "haunted" place your mind can convince you that strange things are afoot. People can scare themselves half to death this way.

I still get creeped out occasionally in certain situations but I am more scared of humans, and what they could do to me, than eidolons, spirits or ghosts.

Try searching for South Carolina Lowcountry ghost stories. There are plenty. I can vouch for a few myself.

A lot of good stuff here. I'm glad this thread sorta took off. Nutter, I love your post. I would love to be able to do some investigating on your property. Here is CT there is a famouse abandoned settlement, but I will not go there, neither will the rest of my team. Seams that a lot of people that go in, come out with broken bones, bruises, cuts, etc. all from the unexplainable. It is considered one of the most evil haunted places in the USA. But yours sounds veryinteresting. If you live semi-close to ct, could we hook up? Also, we just got our website up. It is just the begining, so not to spectacular, but please check it out. Is is www.lspig.com. I look forword to reading more of your responces.....Take Care....Jay
