So I found that 36 is....year '73-'75, ratio 3.73. capacity 7.4M, manufacture Dana (Spicer), model 70.

yep, axle code 36 is always dana 70 HD 3.73 just like in my '73 F350 too...
if its an F350 late '60s to around 1981 with code 36 then it is Dana 70 HD 3.73
this axle code number goes back to at least 1967 and through at least 1981, and is all the same axle and ratio and code. without being recycled for any other axle models or ratios. for at least 15 model years, minimum. and surely alot more than 15 though..
it looks like in the '80s sometime that axle code 36 finally did get recycled to 4.56 in F250 trucks possibly.
