Anyone else experience sciatica with the F150 Seats?
I bought my 2016 Lariat 2 years ago. I bought it far away and had a 18 hour drive home. About 10 hours in to the drive I experienced extreme pain in the back side of the thigh of my right leg. I shifted any which way I could to relieve the pain. It never really went away, but I got it home. I later learned that pain was sciatica. I assumed the pain was due to the very long drive and forgot about it. As time went on the pain came back on shorter and shorter drive times. Now I can drive 10 minutes and begin to feel the pain.
Is this pain connected in some way to how these seats are constructed? Does anyone else have this problem?

I also have a 2016 Lariat but, I haven’t experienced any Sciatica.
However, I will say that my drivers seat is not as comfortable as it used to be when my vehicle was new.
I’ve read postings from other owners who said the foam in the seat wears out and things improved once they had it replaced. In my opinion, I wish is was more dense.
I had a 2002 F150 Lariat for 14 years and never experienced anything like it. I don't think the foam is sacked out. These seats were near new when I bought it and still seem the same. I don't know where the pain is coming from, but it really sucks.

Welcome to getting older. I doubt seriously your pain is CAUSED by the seat. You have developed Sciatica which is not an uncommon thing and the seat/sitting aggravates it. I get the same thing no matter what I'm driving. The F150, wife's Edge or the Harley. It sucks but it sure beats the alternative........
Do you keep your wallet in your hip pocket? If so do you have 30 years worth of business cards in it?
I think these seats are more than adequately comfortable. That having been said, about 5 years ago my back pain got real bad, turned out one of my discs ruptured and was forcing the sciatic nerve against the pelvic bone. It required immediate surgery. I’ve been a lot better since.
If your pain is to that point, see your doctor and get an MRI. You don’t want to get to the point I was where I could hardly walk and the pain getting out of bed was excruciating. Make sure nothing is going on. I just thought I would tough it out and almost caused permanent nerve damage.
'17 XL Super Cab with Sport seats: 9 hours for the pain normally associated with sciatica. This compares to the prior limit of about 6 hours in the '09 Tacoma.
I wish I had a power seat. Next time.
That said, sitting like that anywhere brings on various "issues".
Overall we are pleased with ride and seat comfort. But nothing is perfect.
I've gotten it in my 18 lariat se. My 08 fx4i had previously and the 17 peterbilt I drive. I just turned 59 so I think age had something to do with it although I can drive the pickups further without bother than there big rig as it has 450k kilometers on it and share between me and my switch partner
I get it sitting in my wife's beemer, kills me to go on trips in that thing, we both like traveling in the 150 so that doesn't come into play much. That said, I never get uncomfortable in my seats, and I only have the STX model, probably the most basic seats available in that truck.
I spent many hours driving various vehicles with various amounts of clothes on (no you sicks I was bundled up with various layers cause it was freezing out). I find that if I have my wallet in my pocket it starts to bother me in 30 mins to an hour, same for my phone. All vehicles I owe I have a memory foam pillow or cushion as well. FWIW Im only 35, but spent the better part of 10 years on the road driving various vehicles.
I no longer carry my wallet in my back pocket because it caused sciatica in only certain cars.
All my current cars and trucks now have power seats. When I start to get uncomfortable on long rides I adjust the seat up-down etc to change positions. I just bought a F-150 and refused to even look at any trucks without power seats. That ruled our some nicely equipped STXs.
My wife was having issues with severe sciatica and went through physical therapy, shots to her spine and finally surgery which immediately resolved the pain. She had a disk that was pinching a nerve in her spinal column. They did orthoscopic surgery (1” incision) and walked out of the hospital pain free.
