Side by side?

Had both of my Super Dutys parked side by side today and noticed that the 99 stands taller than the 02. The 02 has smaller tires than the 99 so this would make some difference but after looking more closely, I see that the 02 has a 2in block over the rear axle where the spring shackel bolts to and the 99 has a 3 1/2in block. Both trucks are alike(short bed, super cab etc.) and have never been modified. My question Why would the factory have installed 2 different sized blocks on my 2 trucks?

They probably thought you'd never park them next to each other.

I'm only guessing here, but it might have something to do with the V10 in the '99. F250 Powerstrokes have a smaller block in the rear than their F350 brothers, so the V10 must be the reason.

ive heard that some owners complained that it was harder to hook up 5th wheel or gooseneck trailers to the trucks with the taller blocks, thats why some have the 2" block, there was a thread that talked about this several weeks ago, try and find it, lots of debate.
