I have Hedman long tube chassis exit headers on my 78. I put them on, because I got them very very cheaply. If I was buying new headers and redoing the exhaust I would try something else. The long tubes hang fairly low. If you have a lifted Bronco it may not be a concern.

I have a set of Hooker competition headers on my 78, they are a little nicer than the Headman headers for the same application. I don't know that there would be any difference in performance.
