Some people don't like the Auto Start Stop, some people don't mind. This is for the people who don't like it and want it disabled.
There are many ways to disable it. I simply compiled a few of the most common to explain to new users.
1) Unplug the connector on the negative battery terminal.
This is a viable short term option, but this connection is for the Battery Monitoring System. Unplugging it disables the BMS, and in turn, the A.S.S. Your truck will work just fine without the BMS, but you will lose the smart monitoring and management of your battery. This means your truck won't shut down accessories when it's voltage drops, and charging won't be as intelligent. We've gone years with out these features so I'm sure it's fine, but just be aware what you're losing. (Many people mistakenly believe this connector is specifically for the A.S.S., so I just wanted to clear the air that it is not.)
2) Unplug the 2 wire connector near the brake pedal
This is my least favorite method. This connector is for the trailer lights circuit and will disable trailer lights while towing. It also throws several silent DTCs. While not a big deal, if you tow frequently this would be annoying to constantly unplug and plug back in, but more importantly, if you forgot to plug it back in you would be towing without brake lights.
3) Forscan BMS disable
Similar to unplugging the connector at the battery, but doing it via software. You also have the option of disabling the button all together, and then removing the menu from the screen in the gauge cluster.
4) Start Stop Eliminator
This is my personal favorite method. There are several commercial products available, or you can easily create your own with a jumper wire.
By jumping 2 wires (white and purple) on the connector for the for A.S.S. button, you can make the truck believe the disable button has been pressed every time the truck starts.
This method is easily reversible, and doesn't mess with any other vehicle systems. This is why it gets my vote.
Very nice all the common methods in one post. I think there is one more option I, There is a plug that you can use on Google or Ebay the connects to the diagnostic port. I believe it's about $100.

Yep! Several of them exist. I admittedly didn't look into the OBD ones too much, but I couldn't figure out what action they take to disable the A.S.S. so I didn't want to "recommend" it without being able to describe how they work.
If anyone else knows, please feel free to add that information.

Also true. Does the truck remember Sport mode? I never use it, so I'm not sure.

Autostop Eliminator is the best solution for a reasonable price. It comes in 2 different packaging. It is an intelligent device that plugs into the diagnostic port or the back of your vehicle's auto stop-start switch assembly. It restores your preference for auto start-stop automatically which eliminates the need to press the button after each ignition cycle.
Another similar device is: Ford Memorizer which does more than just memorize the last setting of Auto Start Stop, but it will also remember the Drive mode the vehicle was in at the last shut down ie: SPORT MODE, etc. However its pretty pricey but does much more.
What makes both of these solutions better than any hack is that the switch is still active and can be changed by pressing it or restoring it to the desired selection.

This is why I went with the autostop eliminator solution, Ii turns the factory state-resetting switch into on that has memory between key cycles (like it should have come from the factory...).
There have been a few times (e.g leaving a large event, heavy stopped traffic) that I have turned the A-S/S system back on.

I've had the jumper behind the button for over 2 years. I think its the best. I watched it don on YouTube and liked it. There are different videos and some are way better that the others for doing the same thing. Take your time, I solders the ends of the jumper. I will remove before selling and same of the the oil separator.
Heres one last method. I tow fairly often, didn't feel like messing with software, and hated pressing the disable button alot. Mine never activates however. This is because it is a switch. I can hold the truck at a red light with just the weight of my foot. This isn't enough travel for it to trip the switch and therefore the truck stays running. It'll take experimenting to see where yours is, but mine is, less than 1/2 inch of movement means no start/stop and holds the truck. Maybe not all of you.
Point blank statement:
Do not disconnect the Battery sensor to stop A.S/S.
It does many other functions for battery maintenance you do not know about.
Some are; battery temperature, control charge rate, battery capacity over time, control signals to the Alternator, control lead diagnostics, Battery age.
Stopping these control parameters will shorten the battery life all for stopping A.S/S.
One example is not charging at high levels into a hot battery. This is an AGM requirement. AGM Battery is never to be charged at above 14.7 volts.
One simple way to inhibit A.S/S, is plug in a >test plug< in the 4 pin trailer jack for the cost of about $5. This will be a normal inhibit function same as a Trailer will connection do and not need any system modification.
Want to know all about it? Look up the system Patent assigned to Ford and see how complex it works.
Good luck.
Did like jimmy-6 adding a jumper between the white and purple wire and it worked great till the jumper lost contact. Opened things up again and stripped a little insulation from both wires and bridged them together. If I wanted it to work again I'll remove the bridge.
