I need carb numbers so I can get a rebuild.....I have a 2 barrel motorcraft on my 352. It has the top bowl. Every auto parts store I've been to can not figure out which carb it is. Please help asap!!!!
Thanks
Sean
It's gonna be hard since the 352 was not available in 64.
1965 was the first year of the 352. Your truck should have have a 292 if it was a V-8.
2bbl carbs are #
C3TF-9510-H = F100-F250 V-8(EEH) manual shift
C3TF-9510-J = F100-F250 V-8(EEH) automatic shift
No problem. I assumed you had a 64. No I don't think the numbers are the same. I don't have my 66 manual anymore but I'm sure someone else has one. The numbers can be found in the Fuel section under the specification tables.
Sorry.
Remember the language filters bud.
alrighty well ima make a run to Ford tommorow morn, and see if they could help me any..i searched but couldnt find much on rebuilding a motorcraft..you have anything showing mor detailed pics or even soem right ups or something? Thanks Sean
sorry bout the language....."Goober"? thats what my aunt used to call me when i was a boy,lol...
would it be anything to do with the tube coming out of the back of the spacer under the carb?it goes to the valve covers, not sure if that helps but im trying,lol...thanks again,Sean.
Based on your description you have a positive crankcase vent. system. I do not recall ever seeing a vent type system. It is described in the manual as consisting of a vent tube located at the rear of the right rocker arm cover, and it works off vacuum caused by the motion of the vehicle. Should have probably left that portion out of the original email, but guess we both learned something.
ok so i rebuilt the carb..i put it on and she ran alright,i got it to idle after a minute of reving up the engine..then today i took i the alternator off to change the wires, and i wabted to see what it was looking like in the carb.so i took it apart eveything looked fine and i closed it up.now when i try to start it,it starts then dies right away...tried to ajust the float a few times butit still does the same thing..any ideas??? thanks Sean
With the motor off... Take a look into the carb when you manually work the throttle linkage. See if you are getting a squirt of fuel. If this is not happening, then something when wrong (with the power valve i think) when you put it back together the second time. I have done a few carb rebuilds and just when you think it's right, something goes wrong. Maybe just pull it off the truck and re-trace your steps. Let us know what's up.

ok..so i figured out my problem.i guess i didnt adjust the mixtures screws right, its weird cause i was messing with them trying to get it to start and shes would do the start and die deal..well i went back out to the truck seated the screws and went 2 turns out and she fired and ideld good..now my problem is,when i give it throttle and get off she wants to die, sometimes it will and sometimes it almost dies...well any ideas...im thinkin maybe ill pull the carb off try to adjust the float again......any ideas??? thanks Sean
Sounds like the accelerator pump is either not working or grossly miss adjusted. Take a look at the Pict's in the rebuild kit on how to set the linkage. Theres a few different holes in the lever arms, to adjust the amount and duration of the pump shot.
