2017 F250 Super Duty XL. Has anyone done this conversion? How much was it? For those that have a power slider, where is the switch? Hauling 16’ boards from the home cheapo is a PITA. I’m considering swapping out to a slider. Just a thought at this point I’m looking at other options too. I’m not moving boards everyday and would just like the option.
Mine came with the slider, and it has defroster things in it which is really nice. It turns on when I hit the button for the side view mirror defrosters. The slider switch is above your head, to the rear of the upfitter switches.
If you swap it out check out Safelite. I do not work for them. Just they provide good service at reasonable price. My buddy had his 2015 denali rear window swapped to solid one with defrost from a slider cause it leaked from day one and he never found the leak until 2 years later. I think GM reimbursed him for the window. All they wanted to do was put a new foam seal in where the slider sealed. Bogus so he swapped to a solid.
If I were in your shoes I’d get a manual slide aftermarket. They make them. Wehring on here added one if I remember correctly.
as a person with the power slide... frufiest thing ever had on a super duty. A sliding window is useful. Power slide? Right up there with lighted sill plates
Haha I hear ya. I was thinking solely for security purposes as I figured a power slide would be more secure. My last experience with a slider was on an 89 150. Very Chincy. I also figured a manual slide wasn’t even an option these days. Thanks for all the replies
I recently blew out the rear window on my '17 before the new rig arrived. The entire assembly was $600 cost (ins covered it), safelite did the install. Everything is glued to the main glass, so when it's replaced they replace everything. Pretty dang slick.

LOL. That is EXACTLY why I got the power slider!! It is the epitomy of 'frufy" on a super duty and I wouldn't be without it.
I too occasionally pass long stuff through the window. Did it on my '97 all the time. Just got the 2020 so haven't needed to yet.
Remember.... these trucks have a glass frame around the opening. You don't want to put much weight through the opening.
Understood. When I have to actually squeeze a couple of 2x6x12s into the truck, I'll have fashioned something to prevent any weight on the glass. Not yet sure if it will be a thing that rests on the back seat or if it will rest on the front edge of the bed.
Thanks for all the replies. After careful consideration I think I'm just going to fab something out of the tailgate for hitch. Seems like a lot of money to spend for something i'll use so infrequently used. I'll post some pics at some point. I've got the steel laying around anyhow. Thanks!
