that's a lock box where the dealer puts a set of keys for the vehicle.

Ahh, never seen that. Around here the keys are locked in the showroom. There is a Honda dealer that does 'Salesmanless Sundays' where there's nobody there, but the vehicles are left unlocked and the entrances are barricaded, but that's about as trusting as they get around here.
