EMISS light on dash

Another question on a 87 Bronco II, 2.9 engine. The Haynes book says the EMISS trouble light can be reset for another 60,000 miles by sticking a small Phillips screwdriver into a .2 dia hole "under the dash", marked RESET. I laid on my back for several minutes looking, looking, and more looking. Can someone tell me specifically "where" this .2 dia hole is located?

Did you open the glovebox? Then lightly press in on the sides and drop the glovebox door down (be sure and take everything out of it first), that will give you access to reset the EMISS.

Msloke,
It was right where you said. However, it would not reset. The Haynes book says: 1. Gently hold the button down. 2. Turn key to RUN position. 3. Hold button depressed for 5 seconds and release. 4. The EMISS light should go out (but it didn't). 5. Turn key off and then back on and the light should come on for a few seconds and then go out (it came on and stayed on). Maybe I need a new EMISS little black box.

If I remember right its just a timer and can be disconnected, they are hard to reset.

My Emiss light has come on at least 4 or 5 times (has 302,000 miles on it) so I keep a "cheat sheet" note in glove box on resetting. Instead of a small screwdriver, I use the slider part of a tire pressure gauge to insert in the hole to reset the switch. Sometimes have to do more than once to hit the right spot to get it to reset . But basically, you insert the screwdriver or tire gauge sliding part into the hole where it should say "reset" and lightly hold in it, then turn ignition switch to "run" position (Emiss light should come on) and hold it there for about 5 seconds, remove the screwdriver and light should go out in a couple seconds then turn key off. If it doesn't go out in a couple seconds, turn key off and start all over again. When it does go out after doing the reset, turn key off then back on and it should work normally, going off in a couple seconds. I was told that it comes on after so many turns of the key, another brilliant Ford idea.
