Brake booster question

So it's been awhile since I've updated my engine swap. The '55 - 223 is now a rebuilt '58 -

Rebuild stage

Freshly installed

Runs like a top
292. It runs great and is a whole lot more fun to drive! Many thanks to this forum for various tips that helped me with the change over. I'm including a couple of pics. This coming May, I'm changing out the 3.9 stock Dana rear end for a Ford 9" with highway gears. So my question is about brakes. I'm opting to stay with drums since this is a stock engine. Does anyone know the best option for adding a power booster? I'm looking for a bolt on to the master cylinder without having to relocate it to the firewall. Does this exist or do I even need it with the drums? Thank you!

I believe the brakes from the Dana should swap right over to the 9" if you're using the 57-72 F100 9". Or, if you have the drums and backing plates with the 9", you can rebuild that and be pretty much the same as what you had. If you're going to the trouble to add a power booster, I would not use the stock master cylinder, but upgrade to a dual circuit system. There are bolt in kits to do this. You may want to consider adding front discs at the same time, too, to complete the upgrade.

That was quick! Thank you. I'm rebuilding the 9" with stock backing plates and drums. I looked at the front disc conversion kits and read different threads about the end result. My takeaway was that the stock set up would be fine as I'm not driving particularly fast or making hard stops. I'm still open to it if that's the best option. I just want to be able to safely slow/stop from an occasional 60-70 mph. I'm sure mine never saw those speeds in it's prior life! Either way, I was thinking a power booster mounted in the original master cylinder is an easier update vs moving everything to the firewall. I'll go back to the different sources and see what I can find. Any other findings are also appreciated. Thank you!
