Not sure what is going on with the ole truck as of late. Had some brake issues but now apparently I have a issue with the right taillight... the local police were kind enough to let me know.
I can put the bulb in the wrong way and it works. However, if the bulb is put it the correct way and turned in the socket there is no lights. Is this a ground issue... socket issue... or what?
Did someone replace the socket to this light and maybe wired it up wrong?
Have you tried a new / different bulb to make sure its not the bulb?
How can you install the bulb wrong as they (1157) can only be installed 1 way???
Then the socket is bad and if the bulb works by installing it wrong I would install it wrong and go on down the road.
OR
Replace the socket.

not aware of anyone replacing the socket. It has worked for many years since owning it. I tried a different build and had the same results. You’re correct on the bulb installation. Installing the bulb the incorrect way doesn’t allow it to lock into the socket, but makes the lights work for some reason. I tried installing it the wrong way and driving, but the bulb ended up just falling out of the socket.
guess I’m just going to order a new socket, but thanks for suggestions
