Happy Days........... Took delivery of the xlt 5.4 s/cab. What a ride. Smooth a silk, a bit bumpy in the rear on the hwy, but it is a truck not a town car. The 5.4 gets it moving pretty good. One thing I noticed, at 70mph the tack reads about 1800.

The wife wants to get a bed liner (good for her), any recommendations?

Thanks,

Jim B

Get the liner.
I did not put one in my last truck, an 01 Ranger XLT. Just moving a few pieces of furniture for my kid got the bed scratched. I was so disappointed that the outside of the truck was beautiful and the bed was all scratched up.
It is very easy to slide stuff across the bed with the Ford liner. You will like that you can slide heavy things to the front of the bed rather than having to carry it again, once it's in the bed.
You are probably going to tie things down, anyway.
A couple of hundred bucks to keep the truck bed looking good AND make wife happy at the same time-easy decision.
My 94 F150 xlt SCab that I bought third-hand had an original Ford bedliner and I was really happy to have it.
Just my opinion. But, the one time that I did not get a bedliner I was really disappointed.

Get a spray in bedliner, such as a Line-X

I agree with jimmj. Get the hard plastic drop in liner. It's so nice to be able to slide cargo in and out of the bed. I've a spray in liner in my HD 3/4 ton and I hate it. I have to climb in the bed every time I want to move somehthing. My new Ranger has a drop in liner. I use one off those ratcheting bars to secure cargo in place.
