Hey guys, finally found time to replace the bell housing adapter on my '83 F250 4X4. While I have the seat out I was considering another that I have, will the seat from a '94 F250, both regular cabs, bolt into the '83?
Got the '83 apart today, now to head out to my storage yard to pull the trans on the '86 parts truck. Getting the torque converter off might be fun with a locked up engine.
As usual, when I tear into a project I'm gonna find something that needs replacing and I don't have a spare. The front bearing retainer is trashed on the t19. Anybody have a source that doesn't charge more for shipping than the price of the part?
both methods I mentioned are viable... guess you ain't got no Pull... I know at Normal Hourly rates it is a waste of time, I do stuff for buddies like this all the time for a small Bartered amount... I have a full Machine shop. ... you lucky you ain't in Canada where the shipping would be 75 Bux for that part.
Just saying
Maybe FleaBay with Free Shipping.
Besides.. just go to a Pull-A-Part and cost you all of $9.14 for the part .... I just looked it up.... Granted you might have to pull a Dozen trannies to find a good one
After looking at several sites I found one for $28 and free shipping.
This part along with release bearing and flywheel ring should have my ol firewood toter back running.

There ya go
Merry Christmas
IF I had the Money to pay an hourly wage from the time I spent Searching .... I would be rich
BTW I see you have a 5 Cylinder in your Benz... would that be a 2.5L engine by chance ? it's what I have in my 1990 Jeep XJ and I need a head gasket for #3 cylinder...I'll probably end up making one as they are a Bitch to find here in the states. I haven't looked at Benz gaskets but I might could adapt that fire ring.
Ahhh ok thought it was in a Car maybe... I'll search Peachparts... I did put a copper wire in the Groove it's holding so far maybe I should have just used Stainless in the Groove... Thanx for the tip.
