So I started thinking that some of those carbon fiber (not the cheap faux chrome) Euro-style tail lights might look pretty snazzy on my black truck... until I looked at prices just now and saw they're $150+!
as someone who was in the import scene, 150 for a set of 'euro' tailights is a outragously priced product (your using USD right?) .Its the big greedy money circle thats cuasing them to be expensive, its a new innovative product and everyones tacking high-*** prices on everything!
hey, do you know if they sell them for an 87 ranger too?
Hey Soksniffer, try ebay. I've seen tails selling for $100 + or -. I've been shopping around myself for my '02 150 and ebay def has the lowest prices. Good luck!
they make em for dam near everything now. They dont look that great IMO, I had some neat smoked ones in my GMC that looked really cool for a while tho.
I just bought a set of the TYC C/F Elegante (sp?) series tails for my Expy. They were $125 + ship, so say $140, this brand seems to have a good rep for their quality and these look shape, IMHO, not to flashey like my OE's on My 02 Niassn Altima, too ricey...
The taillights are a great add on to any vehicle. The only problem is that if you dont have a locking tailgate, well I hope you like giving to the local neighborhood theif. I did in fact own carbon fibre tailights and they looked great from about 15 feet away...upon closer inspection it looked kind of cheap. It just kind of threw off of my black trucks color scheme....good thing they were stole huh.
Tod - Do you have a link to where you bought yours? I have been looking for a set of Carbon Fibers for my X. I would jump on a set for $150. Most Euros or Carbon Fibers for a 95-97 Explorer are going for $200+......
I bought a pair of carbon fiber tail lights off ebay about 1 1/2yrs ago for my 02. They do look pretty sharp on there (since my truck is grey). The only thing that was upsetting about them was the silicon or whatever they use to keep the clear lens cover on them, rotted and I lost it while I was going down the highway. I think I paid about $100.00 for them and it just makes me sick to see them on there now. APC has some on there website (www.performancestyleattitude.com) they have many different styles to choose from. Just don't look at the prices! I will be getting a pair of the reto 3d ones, just because no one around me have them. Just want my truck to look different from everyone else around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Hope that will help you out.
