That's kind of an involved question. You have to put a couple of markers on the outside edges of the trailer, and the backup assist will track the position of the trailer relative to the "line" on the backup camera. You "steer" with the little **** on the dash, and it decides how to turn the truck to accomplish the "line".
If you have any experience backing a trailer, you might find it a bit tedious. However, if your trailer backing skills are rusty, you might like it.
