That link comes up as dead or something--perhaps my ad blocker software interferes with its display? Either way I did a JJ search and was so pleasantly reminded what a great racer Junior was.
I didn't know he was dealing with Alheimer's disease but was curious why he was mostly absent from so much of NASCAR's various televised races. I loved the era he raced!
I did try it again and this time and it worked perfectly second time around.
Junior had Chevrolet approach him several times to share his secrets and he pretty much ran them away. They weren't too keen on paying him for what he'd learned or created, he knew they'd sell the info to other teams he competed against every week---twarn't no back woods chicken farmer. Seems the factories hate having people like Junior, Ernie Elliott etc etc etc beat them with their own parts which is not only funny as hell but shows engineers most times ain't racers---Alan Kuwicki aside that is.
