I found an 87 f150 to use for parts converting my 82 f100 to FI and AOD. Some parts are missing - throttle body/egr, 87 is single tank 82 dual tank, breather assm gone.
Questions?
were any trucks mass air rather than sped density?
Would you try junkyard parts for what missing?
are there aftermarket conversions to mass air?
Are there any problems I should expect with this conversion?
how much power does a stock speed density truck (302) have?
stock hp depends on the year, 1995 had 205 horses is all I'm sure of, mass air was on some 1995, and most 1996 f-150s and bronco's...uhm there is a conversion that ford and ford racing (svo) sells but it runs around $500, salvage yard would be cheaper but also harder to find, you'd need the harness, computer, and mass air sensor off of one
good luck on the swap!
87 was rated at 185 hp 270 ft-lbs. Find an EFI rear tank and get the plastic fuel lines and the 4 into 2 fuel line thingy from a truck at the wreckers to maintain the dual tank setup. You will probably need a dual tank wiring harness too, or you can splice.
