Toyo or Nitto

Getting new tires and wheels. Going to put 35x12.5R20 tires, debating on Toyo Open Country RT or Nitto Ridge Grappler? What’s everyone’s opinion on either tire? Truck is a daily driver with some off highway use.

I myself like the Ridge Grappler plus they are a few bucks cheaper. Haven’t ran the Toyo but have zero complaints with the RG

Running the 295/65/20 RG.

As mentioned above about 12ply I dont know if I would want the extra weight and ride quality issues.

X2

I'm running 37x12.5x18 ridge grapplers on my 2019 CCLB

amazing tire!

They were 600$ cheaper than the Toyo, but hey, I'm up in Canada, we get ripped off daily by our Liberal government!

Is your truck lifted/leveled or stock?

I debated between the two last summer. Went with r/ts. No regrets. IMHO they are more agressive vs the Nittos. The Nittos are good but more of a A/T. I think they are more comparable to a toyo A/T. Dont think you'll go wrong with either.

37/12.5/20 on my 17 CCSB w/ 4” lift. Best tires I’ve run but not great on ice. Pretty hairy up in the northern mountains chasing white tails this year. Sliding slowly towards 150’ sheer drops will raise your blood pressure. Not sure the Toyos would be any better in that dept.

R/Ts are not good in winter/ice. I swap em out for winter rubber. If I was to run one tire it would be the Toyo AT with the snowflake.

2.5 inch ready lift/level lift on the front, nothing in rear but factory suspension, it came with snowplow/camper prep package as well

Also as others have stated, these are tires are garbage in the snow, tires are brand new in November, first snow fall, first winter drive to my parents house, slid thru an intersection, lucky noone was in front of me

Put my winters on the next day

If you ever tow heavy loads that should be the last thing on your mind I mean hell your driving a super duty the ride isn’t meant to be good anyway. They ain’t Cadillacs

I've got the RG's in 37's and after 5,000 miles I've got no complaints. I couldn't decide between the Toyo's or the Nitto's -- the tech at discount made me a better deal on the Nitto's so that's what I went with. They're both owed by the same parent company and are supposedly similar in compound.

I have that exact tire combination with the Nittos. Great tire in my opinion.
