So I keep getting a code P1248 says an issue with my turbo. The ONLY time it ever comes on is when EOT temperature is still cold 80-100, and I try driving while the EBPV is trying to kick on/off. It’ll trip the code and I clear it and it’s gone. The code only came on twice when I tried. Sometimes EBPV doesn’t kick on but the past couple times the EBPV came on and I try driving it’ll trip the code
Have you noticed any performance issues?
lack of power?
worse mpg than normal?
I have no SES light on but I still have a p1248 accompanied by low boost and even wors mpg.
Some causes are intake leaks, MAP sensor, hose for map sensor, the turbo itself or the ebpv ebps and tube.
Since yours is acting up with the ebpv
A lot of people delete the ebpv, so I’m not sure if it’s a “problem” if it’s ONLY throwing the code. But I’m not certain.
EBPV should open as soon as you touch the brake or gas and not close until the vehicle is stopped for a minute or more.
Mine would engage while driving when my back pressure sensor was bed, IIRC.
