Angry 87 bronco 302 start problems

I have an 87 bronco with the 302. It jumped time, Had a plastic gear. I replaced the chain and gears. I triple checked the alignment of the gears. Commpression is at 130 psi. When I crank it over it will not start. I can rotate the distibuter counter clockwise, and it will just idle. Then I can move the distributer to the normal position, and it runs good. I set the timing with the spout connector disconnected at 10 deg BTDC. Then I shut it off and it will not start again. I have to repeat the same prosses. I am at a loss. I have changed the map sensor, distributer and mod, everything but the computer that can be related. I can put a timing light on it while it is cranking and it is fireing at 10 deg. HELP!!!!

You're probably barking up the wrong tree :-) Although there are some very smart folks here that can probably answer your questions.

Check out the appropriate engine forum here...

Only guessing. I,ve seen the TFI module connector go bad before. Help section has these at local parts store. Maybe when you twist dist it connects and stays connected til ya shut it off. Do ya have spark from coil when it doesnt start? Have someone you dont like hold on to coil while cranking. If they yell and they,re laying on ground 10 feet away ya got spark. Got spark, then I,d say computer not firing injectors. ECM will not fire injectors if it dont know engine is turning. This info provided to ECM from TFI module. Looking down at TFI this is the top wire. Next down is timing control. Same wire you unplug for base timing(spout). Hope this helps.
