Exclamation Spider Gears... Help!

I have a 89 Bronco XLT, 300 Straight 6, 5sp... the works. Here's the problem. I bought the truck really cheap to do a full restoration. The previous owner replaced the ring and pinion, pinion bearings, and seals. Now the spiders are bad. Got the parts at the dealer, and dove into the repair. I removed the retaining bolt for the spider pin (?) and the bolt is broken off in the housing just after the threads. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what can I do to get the axles out so I can get the Diff cluster out? Any ideas would be extremely helpful. By the way, there's only 3000 miles on the ring and pinion.

the best way that i can think of is get a really experienced welder and have him use an arc welder to weld the rod to the pin and pull it out. hes got to have a steady hand because it wouldnt be good if he slipped.

had the same problem on Mr Ranger here is what i did

Go to Advance Auto parts
Find their little nick nack section
get the pocket telescoping magnetic pickup
extend it
cut it off 1 or 2 inches after the magnet
put the magnet in hole
pull out brocken pinion shaft pin
drink beer

I got under the truck this morning and found that the truck had sheared the pin into 3 pieces all by itself. I was able to use a magnet to retrieve the broken pieces, and was able to do the gear swap in about an hour. Thanks for the ideas!
