What's the deal with all these recalls and TSB'S lately? Axles, steering stabilizer, door locks, tailgate, P.S. hoses, now carpet insulation, & who knows what I've forgotten. The list is too long! We are waiting on 2020's to come out in force & people can't even buy a 19 & take it home! Wtf?
I'm certainly not taking mine in for anything yet, I can only imagine how full of squeaks and rattles my truck will be once its disassembled & put back together for all these recalls.
On top of that, my buddy who works at the Ford plant said they are looking for people to work during Christmas shutdown to pull engines in finished trucks for some kind of repair. He wasn't sure what the repair was but, come on Ford!! What is going on with the quality these days?? I'm a big fan of my Ford, and I know all manufacturers have issues but seems like they are really piling up. No wonder it takes weeks to get into a dealer for anything, it's just an extension of the factory, picking up where factory left off. They need to get this figured out & fix this stuff. Beginning to wonder if my truck is gonna just fall apart.
Don't get me wrong, I love my 19 lariat. So far it's the nicest & most enjoyable truck I've ever had. I just hope it stays that way! Just seems like Ford really has their hands full. And that's just with one vehicle lineup.
I know what you mean, I've only owned my truck since May but have 2 recalls and 2 FSAs. The othe two vehicles I own are Toyota and Honda, the Toyota had 1 recall in the past 18 years and the Honda has only had the air bag recall that many manufacturers have had to deal with.
I'm fine with them fixing problems that happen after the truck leaves the lot. It's also nice they recall before people get hurt or killed -
Sure that all sounds nice and good, except for all the scratches, rattles and other collateral damage from dealership repairs. Personally, I would like them not to have to touch my truck after it leaves the factory. Ford has been in the game long enough, having all this pop up 3 years into a production run should be an embarrassment to them.

My 2013 year has proven to be one trouble vehicle@ 75,000 miles.
When I read the Plethora of issues with the 2017+ super duties, it truly makes me question my next purchase.
Somebody with more time then me should research who has the most recalls, Toyota, GM or Ram and of course Ford.
I think the results will be surprising to some
As a Ford fleet with almost 300 vehicles, in a few other manufacturers.... I am surprised at the ratio.
I know the service manager at my dealership and he has worked for Dodge and Chevy/Gm and he says that Ford has less vehicles come back then the other 3 by far.
I dont think you can put all these in the same category.
The power steering hoses looked like a vender issue, and Ford is fixing them, and is able to tell what trucks where effected by their record keeping.
Next, not all things can be tested out. Let's say ford tested out 100 trucks and all the issues that where found where fixed before production, but some problem are only with one out of 1,000, or one out of 10,000, or 100,000.
one of these problems was one fire AFTER an accident, Ford is fixing it.
Lastly, it's pretty had to tell what problems will come up with production vehicles untill they are in production.
As more and more features are added to the trucks there will be more chances of a problem, it will just be one of the trade offs as vehicles get more advanced.
