Whichline is the return?

I am installing a tranny cooler on my 02' psd and I am a little confused. There are two lines coming form the bottom of the radiator. The one from the driver's side goes to the front of the trans. The short one on the passenger side goes to the back of the trans right above the pan. I want to tie my new cooler in to the return line in series behind the stock cooler. Which of these lines is the return. I was told the short passenger side one but that one seems to go into the top of the trans. I know this has been answered ad nauseum before but I can't find it so please help me out.

You should already have a tranny cooler. The line running from the driver side of the bottom of the radiator should hook to a hose that runs around the passenger side and to the front of the radiator.

here is the line routing:

There is a metal line that runs from the front of the tranny to the front of the engine. This metal line connects to a rubber hose (crimped fitting) that runs to the right bottom of the radiator. This is the tranny "out" line. Fluid runs from the tranny to the radiator in this line. Another rubber hose runs from the left center of the bottom of the radiator and runs around the radiator to in front of the radiator. Fluid runs from this line to the finned cooler in front of the radiator. A second rubber line runs from the finned cooler in front of the radiator back to a second metal line running in parallel to the first metal line. The rubber line is the fluid return line from the finned tranny cooler. The second metal line runs to the back of the tranny. This is the fluid "in" or return line to the tranny.

Let me clarify. The line on the front of the trans is a hard line that goes to a short length of rubber line with crimoed fittings. This line goes into the back of the radiator on the left(center) side. There is another steel hard line which mounts to the trans above the pan on the left side just forward of the back @2". This line also transitions to a short length of rubber hose with pinch clamps and the then back to hard line which ties into the back of the radiator on the right(passenger) side. I was told that this is the return line. I know I have a cooler and I want to run my new one in series with that one but after the radiator on the return line. i just want to confirm this before I cut the hard lines.

In a 4R100 (7.3L PSD), both the tranny "out" line and the "in" are on the passenger side of the tranny. There are no lines on the driver side of the tranny. The front line is "out" and runs to the cooler. The rear line is the "in" and runs from the cooler back to the tranny.

There is a bypass line that runs between the two lines ( in and out) where the lines connect to the tranny.
