No opinion on those choices but for the rear get something that hangs low enough to keep the stuff off your fifth wheel. My last 2 trucks were dual and I put a set of Duraflaps on them. Very substantial and they can be customized.
To protect towables, you really need to be thinking about something hitch-mounted like Rock Tamers or Agricover's Rockstar flaps. Regular fender-mounted mudflaps will help some, but won't be what you really need to protect a trailer.
I have an older hitch mounted system which is similar to the Rock Tamer. It works well to prevent gravel and mud from beating up the front of the boat when being towed on gravel / dirt roads in Canada. The last 25 miles is rough, slow, and the best part of the drive because of the animals and scenery. Those roads can very quickly sandblast the front of a boat.. I may look into something else as well. The boat is not fancy, but works great and no intention to replace it. A similar system should help in your use as well.
I have a 350 dually and decided I should get some guards to keep down the mess. I will be towing a 5er in the future.
i have been looking at the OEM, Weatherguard and Husky, anyone have opinions on these or anything else?
Personally, less is more in my view.
Big honky mud flaps with shiny metal and Ford emblems of any kind.. IMO..is out of style.
I’ll be mounting the OEM factory flaps on mine. Full vehicle warranty. They don’t call attention, discreet , and will get the job done.
I use the DuraFlap because they totally protect my trailer and boat. I have had other splash guards and rubber flying mud flaps over the years. I keep coming back to the full size. Plus, I do not have to drill holes in my truck to install them. Very simple.
I made my own. 2X2 square steel tubing, held in by one screw. One “truck” mud flap cut in half. I leave these on all the time as I mainly use the truck to tow our travel trailer. I also have the factory splash guards, they help the front splash onto the running boards.
I made my own. 2X2 rectangle steel, held in by one screw. One truck mud flap cub in half. I leave these on all the time as I mainly use the truck to tow our travel trailer. I also have the factory splash guards, they help the front splash onto the running boards.
I like that! 👍 to you, DIY is always the coolest...
