So I just bought a 66 f100 project, and it was very straight, doors worked great. While being loaded to the tow truck, the driver side door opened, and was forced open by some dang trash cans that were up against a tree. It did not dent the cowl or fender, but did over extend it enough that the door does not open, close right. Not sure if the hinges bent or what, tried to adjust but no luck. Anyone ever dealt with this?
There was a thread not too long ago about this. The members responding generally agreed that the bending from over extending would most likely be inside the door where the hinge bolts to the door. Pretty tough to bend an A pillar with 60's extra thick gauge metal due to a strike from the normal suppliers of metal.
My neighbor came by with a good idea, and it worked! We put a 2x4 in the holes (pillar side) and closed the door until it kinda squished the blocks, then pushed on the door a little at a time
whatever bent, bent back! Door is good again
