[QUOTE=Jstamm2001;18989437]thank you. Wife and I will be pulling a similar size 5’er with a F350 6.2 with the 4.3. I didn’t want to go diesel either if I didn’t have to.[/QUOTE
Here is our 5th wheel 33' and about 11,000 Lbs. loaded. The 2011 F350 4X4 w/ 4.30 pulls it well. On flat level highways it will run 2000 RPM at about 65 mph in 6th gear all day long, no problem. In the mountains it obviously has to work a bit more and down shift to make more power but it gets the job done. At times I would like to have more and I'm sure the diesel would outperform the gas any day but for me I can't justify the cost. When i'm not towing the camper i'm usually making a lot of short trips around town which isn't the greatest thing for diesel motors. The 6.2 has been very good to me.
Mike, nice 5er. I'm hoping the new truck provides a stress free pull. I don't do over 65 mph but you know what its like when the transmission is always down shifting to maintain speed, you can't relax and enjoy the ride.
