10.25 Drum Compatibility
Straight to the question: Will 2.5" brake backing plates and drums work on a full-float 10.25?
I purchased a 10.25 full float with a limited slip carrier to upgrade my open differential semi-floating 10.25 axle. The new full-float has complete 3" brake hardware excluding the drums and my current axle has like new brake hardware on it also but is 2.5". Rather than spend $90 on new 3" drums, could I transfer over all the 2.5" stuff? I don't need to upgrade braking power and it isn't worth $90 to me if what I have will swap. I'm wondering if the spacing to the wheel face of the hub will be the same also.
