I believe that the shifting in the E4OD is computer controlled. If it has one, then the computer has been reprogrammed with a chip or something.

They also make shift kits...call up one of the manufacturers like B&M and ask them.

I know that you usually have to change springs in the valvebody and drill larger holes in the separator plate.
You would probably need new stock springs and a new separator plate to return it to stock.

Why do you want to remove it?

Hi Jimmy,

Actually it isn't me who is doing this. It's my brother who wants to remove the shift kit. I am not sure why he wants to remove it; although I will ask. He just ask me to try and find any information about how to remove it or a layout somewhat about how to do it.

So far you are the only one that has helped me and/or my brother. I mentioned to him about what you said above regarding the computer controlled post and he already knew that. He said he was needing something like a diagram/layout of what has to be done.

If you have any idea, maybe you could email it to me and I could print it out for him.

Thanks for your help.

I do not have any info on the E40D as to I have never installed on into that particular tranny.
The problem is, is that there are several different manufacturers of shift kits and they all do things a little different. It would be hard to say which one that it has as far as contacting the actual people that made the kit.
I would suggest if he really wants it gone, to either try to buy a new valvebody and separator plate at a tranny shop or junk yard, or find someone with the same tranny that might want a shift kit and trade valvebodies and sep. plates.
