Ran across these little shop LED lights on Amazon... they are about 3/4" square in cross-section and about 48" long. 5' switched plug-in wiring is included as well as jumpers to plug light-to-light or hard-wire them into place. We moved to the country a while back, which included a metal unwired garage. Last week the electrician came out, and yesterday I decided to hang some lights. 9 hung up wired to the light switch, the 10th plugged into a motion sensor so when a garage door is opened the single 2200lm bulb lights up. Garage looks like daylight inside. No more plug-in trouble light for illumination! Cost about $70 for the lights, a few bucks each for 10 foot 2x4 to mount 'em on, ran 1/4" cord to hang 'em up. Three over the workbench end, four over the middle, two at the rear. Basic and easy.
I found the 4' two bulb fixtures at Costco for $19.99 a few months back. What a difference they make. Don't need a drop light now unless I'm under the truck.
Mark.
is the Amazon link for the 10 pack of 5000K Barrina lights. They also sell 4500K, 5500K, and 6000K lights in varying package counts to meet your preference. $70 for a 10 pack, about $40 for a six pack. They do not come with a fixture per se, but have little mounting clips - I used 10 foot 2x4s for convenience. Electric driver to drive in the screw through the clip, one at each end of the light, then snap/plug in. You can daisy chain up to 8 lights in series. They supply five 5' switched power cords, power pigtails to hardwire the lights in, and five 2' light-to-light jumpers to daisy chain the lights. To make things work I had to do a little surgery on two of the power cords and there was no problems with their functionality afterwards. If I had a complaint, the mounting screws are VERY soft and if you spin the driver bit once, you need to replace the screw.
