harmonic balancer question

Hey guys,
I almost have my Cleveland put back together. I will be redlined around 6000 rpm. I was wondering if a stock Ford OEM balancer is good enough. Do I need to go aftermarket?

Thanks for all the previous input. I found that I needed to shim my rockers .060 on all but two rockers (they needed .030) and never would have know to even measure first without your help.

Thanks,
Bobby

Unless you plan to spin it at 6K and leave it there for extended periods of time you should be fine with a new stock damper.

Stock is fine. Condition is the key and they can be rebuilt.

I found a seller on Ebay today with some good prices on new aftermarket SBF balancers. I believe they'll work on Clevelands. RP$ Ford.

Hi Folks....

This is greatly appreciated information...I will be sending my dampner to "Dampner Dudes" shortly for rebuild...I called moments ago and talked to a gentleman named Darryl. He indicates he has many units in stock for exchange or can rebuild the one you send in to him (2 day turn time for repair). He advises their address has changed.

Hope this helps!
