So I have a 74 DRW F350 that currently has split rim wheels. Looking at going to a modern wheel. I've been searching the forums and reading up what I can, but I'm hoping for a bit more guidance.
My truck has coined wheels, so I know I can't just grab any 8x6.5 wheels as the later ones are hub centric while mine is lug centric. I see that 80-83 350s came with one piece wheels that were still the coined setup. I can't find any of these few years in the junkyards. Does anyone know if there are other years that were the same, or what years the vans had this setup?
The only new wheels I can find that mention being coined are https://dieselpowergear.com/products/raceline-wheels-allied-wheel-components-16x6-8x6-5-coined-dual?variant=30874819035207¤cy=USD&gclid=Cjw KCAiAws7uBRAkEiwAMlbZjsue6n4sLMyvGhphzb0i3mNWsz_eP j083oCFvNqJkeBD6DA3dPbp7hoCl-EQAvD_BwE but there isn't a lot of information on the site about them.
Any other new wheels that anyone knows of that will work?
Probably look into E350 motorhome circles as those owners would be the ones driving the market for coined wheels, if there is a market. I would think that there would be vintage chromed rims available out there somewhere in a 16" size, instead of the fake plastic or stainless steel wheel covers... Or if someone is "wrecking" their motorhome, you could score cheap wheels that way?

Wasn't there an adapter plate available(at some point in the past) to use non coined rims on axles that were designed to use coined rims, so later year rims could be used?
Did the adapter have a non theaded stud sticking out to lock both rims together on the rear?

Why would coined rims be necessary on the front?
Because the front hub of a dually truck has recesses around the wheel studs which centers the wheel.Bud wheels front and back. And the stud in the rear doesn't lock the wheels together. Its and alignment pin,so you keep the valve stems aligned.
