^^^ by far and away the easiest and simplest method. Mechman's work great and are very reliable. Upgrading or supplementing the alternator to battery and grounds is a good idea with the more capable alternator.

I'll second the single high capacity alternator. That way you don't have to worry about competing charge systems messing with each other as you are trying to get them to go about their assigned tasks.
