The ugly taillight lenses have been replaced with reproductions We found some "not exactly original but close" 61-65 hubcaps to go on the 17.5 rims 3 of the rims are Budd 73240s date coded '59. The 4th one is a 70720 with no date that I could find.
Had to replace the headlight switch, signal flasher, and several bulbs, but all lights are now working with the possible exception of one in the radio.

We picked up the axle from the machine shop last Wednesday. They had to drill out the bores in the axle and sleeve them. They pressed in the new spindle bushings, honed them and assembled everything for us. Axle installed on the truck with new u bolts and new shocks.
The spindles, bearings and races were in good shape, so we just cleaned and repacked them. Brakes were done with new drums, shoes, cylinders and hardware.
The truck is off the jackstands. Parking brake works now for the first time in over 40 years. Replacing the the remaining 62 year old brake lines. New rear shocks will be installed this weekend.
