A couple of things here.
I tried all the option lined out above lockers auto manual, 2wd 4wd engage disengaged ect. all with the same results.
When i noticed this first, yes the roads were Wet, Icy, and Dry. it was the day after a ice/rain storm.
I tried the options outlined above on Dry pavement in a parking lot. 100% sure its the rear tires. i can hear them skipping/dragging when i turn. I do not have to turn full lock for them to skip/drag.
Again when in 4wd, ELD switch is NOT pulled out, no light on dash, only 4wd the rear tires skip/drag as if the locking diff in the rear has been engaged. This is the problem, nothing to do with the front tires/lockers.
All i want is for the truck to be in 4wd and the limited slip to work as is supposed to until i need the Differentials locked.

Something has to give when your turning on pavement in 4x4, most of the time it will be your rear tires skipping since their is less traction in the rear because it's lighter than the front. What you have described sounds completely normal. Also your truck doesn't have limited slip, the front and rear are open differentials until you engage the locker then only the rear is locked.

Ok, the rear is open, even when 4wd is selected and some binding is normal, the normal being from the front end. but this really tight binding and from the rear. in fact its the same as when 2wd is selected and the ELD is pulled out, there is a lot of binding and skipping or dragging as would be expected when the rear is locked but the front is not binding as would be expected in 2wd.
Here is what i believe is happening, I select 4wd, and do not pull the ELD switch out, however the rear ELD is being engaged and rear wheels are no longer in "open differential" and therefore the tight binding when making turns.

Test it out then, jack one front and one rear wheel up off of the ground and put it in 4x4 with the locker not engaged and see if it will move, if the locker isn't on then just the front and rear wheels that are off of the ground will spin.

I am going to have to try something because the way it is now is not good.
Unplug wiring harness at rear dif and test as well
I was thinking of that last night. I was also wondering if the switch is broken and even though the light on the dash does not light up, there is voltage being supplied the rear diff lock when 4WD is engaged.
Thanks for all the suggestions internet peeps, its helped me think through some things.
we will get this figured out :-)
So i unplugged the only connector on the rear diff and tested the truck in 4WD. same result. my question is how can the rear lock if the plug is disconnected.
I am afraid i may have to take this into the dealer and see if they know whats up. ugh, this is going to hurt. hopefully still under warranty.

It can't lock with the plug unplugged, try doing what I said in post #19, you can figure out what is going on yourself and avoid a trip to the dealer.

^^^^^^^^^. This ^^^^^^^^^ Do all of the above. And NO.....it CAN’T lock up if the wire is un-plugged....unless the locker is stuck, and then it will be locked all the time.

Ok, i done what you asked above. I jacked up the front, no 4X4, one wheel will spin while the other is on the ground. I put in 4x4 and no spin as expected. I did the same on the rear while in park no tire would spin. I put in neutral and tire would spin while other was on ground.
Next i pulled locking diff switch and tire would not spin while other was on ground. Next i pulled the connector out and tire would spin again. Next i drove truck with connector out and diff switch push in or off. no binding in 2x4.
next i went to open parking lot. i put in 4x4 hi and tried in low, remember no connection on the diff harness or plug, and i had binding.
