Hello everyone, I know I'm probably going to ask something that has already been ask. I have spent hours going thru posts and comments on this subject but I still have unanswered questions. First a little background on my truck, it's a 94 F150 4X4 standard cab with a five speed trans, came with factory air, power steering, and AM/FM radio and that's pretty much all it had as far as luxury. It's all original except for the 2 1/2 inch lift and the transmission(had to replace due to my stupidity) with just a little over 490,000 miles. It was my daily driver until my job furnished me with a truck. At that point I thought it was time to do some much needed TLC to the ole friend. I pulled the bed to replace the fuel pump, for about the fifth time, (ethanol fuel sucks) and stripped and painted the frame up to the cab, I then unbolted the cab and done the same with it and replaced the body mounts with polyurethane mounts. Then I decided to go all out and paint the truck and in doing this I wanted power windows. I got a set from a 93 and mounted on there. According to Ford there is a connection for the power windows and locks under the dash. Now for my questions, here they are if anyone can help;
1. Where would the harness be located under the dash and what am I looking for?(I have found several plugs that are not plugged in.)
2. Do I need to remove the dash to get to it? (some say yes, some say no)
3. If I do not have the correct harness for this swap, will a harness from a 92-96 5.0 truck work? Mine is 4.9 engine.
4. If I make my own harness, and come out of my fuse block with a dedicated circuit from an ignition on only hot point, will I damage anything in the computer and what size breaker do I need? This is my last option by the way, I want this to be a nice clean job.
Thank you everyone for any input, I know I may have ask something that has already been ask but it's all running together now. I figured I would start fresh.
The drivers side runs behind the dash along the windshield over to the passengers kick panel. It's the first wires that are probably put in the cab at the factory.
Did your doors have cut hareness or do they end with a plug?
If your truck came as a "Custom" or "XL" without power windows & locks it is very doubtful the harness that ties the right & left windows & lock motors together would be there. You can indeed rig up your own harness if you like. In order to place that harness in the correct spot you would need to remove the entire dash structure & supports since that harness mounts just below the windshield at the top of the firewall. You could probably also run it across the lower part of the firewall to simplify matters.

mine has the plugs although somebody has cut the plug off the driver door. I’m replacing it with a new one.
I think everything 92 and up had a rather difficult harness with a plug only at the driver's door. It required you to disconnect the electrics inside the door should you want to remove them. The harness is routed similar to the early trucks and you likely would have to remove the dash to remove the harness.
The earlier trucks had plugs at both doors, but the internal door wiring is quite different from the later trucks.
