I just bought this 86 Ford F150 300I6 4 speed standard truck for 1000 bucks. It has the feedback carb and ignition system. Well the ignition system is fried and ive asked around and everyone says to convert to DSII but no information really on the swap! They say i can keep the Feedback carb (its brand new) with the DSII. I can but the box, distributor and coil for less than a hundred bucks. Just need some information on wiring up the box. The rest i can do without a problem.
If you found a older truck with the dsII and got the harness, it will plug right in, you have the plugs already there on the driver's side fender. I have never done a 300 six swap over, but am doing a 2.8 v6 dsII swap over now, it has the same setup as yours, and the plugs are over there. And the more I help people with the 300, the better I am getting at helping them with the plugs, and figuring out it's all there if you have the correct dsII harness to plug in.

You will need to find a DS2 harness of an 1980-1984 truck with a 300. This will be very hard to find. If you cant find one then I would recommend using a GM 4 Pin ignition module. Here is on one Ebay for $8.64 Free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/i/183823023892?...SABEgI1MfD_BwE
You will need a DS2 Dist.
You can use your current square coil.
So total cost under $100

I use this with a feedback carb and it works very well.

Ive went this route once before on a 83 f100 with three on the tree 300 truck. I never had good luck with it. The carb may have been on its last leg as well. If all else fails ill go this route. I have TONS of chevy parts at the shop thats bound to have what i need laying around. Thank you sir.
