Hindsight is worth $$$$$...
I have learned so much from this forum. You guys are great!
The first thing I found out is how much money one can blow on ones truck.. That was the first thing. There is so much to do to these trucks..
The second thing was how ignorant I was in the past on maintaining my previous trucks.. Now I'm a Maintainence guru.. You have to be! It will cost you a ton of money if you don't... What I have learned so far out of all the things one can do for their trucks, You can put on a trick exhaust system.. Put in a chip.. put in gauges.. Make the truck go faster.. Make it sound better.. Etc.. Etc... And believe me I want to do all those things! And eventually I will. I had an appointment to go into Banks.. Two appointments at that!.. But I declined.. (Money was the deciding factor) The most important thing that one can do is.. filtration! ( In My Most Humble Opinion of course).. I never knew how important it is! In my previous trucks (both XL-150's) I could care less.. When I would go in for an oil change the guy would walk in with this black dirty air filter from my truck and I'd tell him not to worry about it. "I'll get to it later" I'd tell them.
In my PSD I Installed 3 Frantz Toilet Roll By-Pass Filters.. And what a world of difference they make! The soot is disapearing from the engine oil.. The filter element from the transmission was silver on red.. The silver color being the metal in the fluid.. Not to mention pieces of metal stuck to the paper itself.. I know now that the fluid will remain like new! Amazing filtration!! Yesterday I installed a Frantz on the fuel line not expecting any performance enhancement out of the engine.. Was I wrong! The engine runs much quieter, Idles better, smoother! Accelerates smoother with better throttle response! I'm impressed! I didn't think That the level of filtration that the Frantz is putting out would have such an effect !! But it does... I know the mileage will be better too..
I have come to the conclusion that the purer the fuel, the better the performance!.. I know the fuel has to be 99.9% pure now. The filters they put on these trucks (all vehicles for that matter) are for crap!!
You know the old saying.. "I wish I knew then what I know now!" I'm kicking myself in the *** for not doing this 20 years ago...
