So I replaced the headlights on my '01. Trying to upgrade the look. The design plan is basically a white truck with black accents. I think it makes the truck look so much better.
I did that as well last year by upgrading to the 05 style. I had the originals but in a smoked lens...boy did those suck for light output! The 05 Harley style units rock with LED bulbs! That along with the 08 style mirrors with the 17 style LED blinkers, puck lights, and working lights were a big improvement as well!
When they arrived, one of the headlight assemblies, the cup reflector in the middle of the light was broken out and rattling around inside the lens. I contacted the seller and sent pictures and asked for a replacement and a shipping label to return them.
He replied with an offer of I keep them and he would refund part of my payment.
I replied that the headlight was sealed and no way to get into it to do the repair. Just send me a shipping label and I'll return it.
He then replied with they usually don't do this but, they would refund my money and I could keep the light. I replied as long as I got a full refund so I could buy another light. I got the full refund.
I went back to Ebay looking for another light setup and saw one that was the same, except it had a screw holding the "cone" reflector in.
So I played around with the light some and was able to grab the "cone" with some forceps and get it back in what was left of the holder. I then drilled a small hole from the outside, into the base of the "cone" mount and was able to put in a small sheet metal screw to secure it in place. I also did the other headlight as well just to make sure it didn't fall out while bouncing around off road.
So with a little ingenuity, I was able to repair them and now have a free et of lights. I beleive the part broke because the FEDEX guy dropped it flat on the concrete porch. There was no damage to the outside of the box, but I could see some where the back of the headlight sat.
I also installed a set of xtreme Phillips 9007 bulbs in them when I installed them. had to get "orange" lights for the turn signal and side marker as the lens is now clear. The new lights are bright. I just need to do a little more adjustment on them. Only issue so far is that the right headlight is brighter than the left. Not sure if its a bad bulb, headlight assembly, or just needs an adjustment.

so can you tell me what all you had to do for the mirrors? Are they plug and play or some wiring needs to be done? How did you incorporate the puck light? I like that part. Not a big fan of the blinker though. Also is the mirror a 2 piece design? upper and lower mirrors like on the '01? And if so, is the lower mirror electrically adjustable? Mine is not.
