CAT cuttin

Alright we all know the F-150s have the worst cat setup known to man. I just bought a set of Magnaflow high flow cats for my 98 F-150. They look real nice and all, but they'd look even nicer on my truck. The problem is, no one in a 50 mile radius will touch them or the truck. My question to you is, did anyone do this themselves and if so how, it looks like a job I may be able to do in my driveway, I just need some help getting started. My biggest concern is, do I absolutely need to weld them on? Anyones help would be greatly appreciated.

Your truck is OBDII, you may some O2 sensor simulators with aftermarket cats. Just what I have heard., otherwise the check engine light will be on all the time. I would recommend welding them because a leaky exhaust doesnt sound that great.

Why won't the exhaust shops touch them? I know that some states have laws where they can't change them unless they are bad or over a certain amount of miles so maybe you could tell the shop the cats are bad? Either that or just cut them off and then have them install the new ones for you. Just a thought.

Its a federal law. Any alteration from factory. Even if you pass the sniff test it is illegal in the eyes of the Feds. Dont we pay enough taxes?
