Motorcraft Or Rotella (Your Input Is Needed!)

Hey all, I need some data for a project I have to do for my College Statistics Class. I decided to do it on preferences for two different oil types, I figured that Motorcraft and Rotella are pretty popular choices for use in Ford Diesels. If you can take a moment and select the one you use in your diesel or use most often, I would really appreciate it.

This is by no means a brand comparison thread. Just need data for my project.

I use Rotella T4 in my 86 f250. You can buy it reasonably at Sam's Club.

Yeah. The Motorcraft Super Duty HDEO in 10w30. The UOAs have been coming back just fine.

If you actually do work with the truck use 40W as Ford suggests. Ford also classifies severe service as short trips in the cold, frequent idling and high speed driving in hot weather carrying a heavy load

I'll probably get a plow before I get a camper. I used to plow commercially but this would be for home use only. So I would keep an eye on my UOAs before anything. I know another user on here, Troy Buenger, who tows a camper and uses the MC10w30. I scored 18 gallons of Motorcraft HDEO 10w30 for 150 bucks. I could not pass that up. When I arrive at my destination, I always allow the engine to idle to get EGT1 down to at least 400 but usually get it down to 350 to keep the oil from coking up in the turbo. I used LubeGard in this oil change so I'm curious to see what the next UOA shows me if anything. We shall see.

I know you were addressing the OP but just thought I'd comment.
