Hello friends, unfortunately I can't get the tools for the inner front axle shaft seals (vacuum hubs) here in Germany. They have the ORC numbers 6695 (older models) and 6697 (newer models). Has anyone already made these tools themselves and has the right dimensions? I have all the machines for metalworking at my disposal. Thank you
Will you please think of me when you have time? ;-))
I have now decided for the replica parts, thank you for your help.
I have the lift plate back at my shop now. I will get photos and draw a diagram with dimensions when I get back home. I work 8 12-13 hour days at a time and have been fighting a sinus infection. Might go home this evening.
I don't want to push you.
I thank you for your effort
Get well again!
I’m feeling much better today. I think I’ll go have some shop time after work and get my tools staged for engine removal and I’ll get your lift plate photos and dimensions. What kind of lift are you going to use?
There are many ways of making plates, but it's best to make a template off the block holes and go from there as the layout is not at the center of the block. I used 8020 aluminum extrusions to pull the motor with a lifting eye. I made a few of these and I'll use one to put the motor back to get the angle. Sold them, these you can sell for $50. .
I have lifting equipment in every size. For the 6.0 I will use my small hydraulic crane.
For the 6.0 I also have to build an assembly stand as I saw it in your and Jack's photos. With it I can turn the engine wonderfully.
