Dinner time!

Anybody do any foil packet cooking on their 6.7? I’m jumping off this weekend on a DC to PDX and back hunting trip. Might as well keep it interesting.

I know. I’m a weirdo.

I've done bratwurst on my ATV. But nothing on the 6.7L. When I was a kid my dad did a roast on the engine of his International Harvester Travelall. We all thought he was nuts, but after a while you could smell it cooking and our hunger got the best of us and it wasn't bad.

Back when I was really health/diet conscious and worked out of town I would bring my lunch and warm it on the motor. Did all kinds of stuff.

I still watch my diet but eat out now.

I'll stick with this. It gets better mileage and will run on just about anything (unleaded, 2-cycle, kerosene, diesel, white gas, JP-8).
Besides, I'm sure bacon grease is hard to remove from the engine compartment.

I've done this in the past with my CJ7 and tube steaks.

There used to be a book called "manifold destiny" that was written in the 70s or 80s.

Had a bunch of tips and recipes.

"cutlass pork cutlets"

"Mustang Meatloaf"

"Regency Brougham Roast"

Not vehicle manifold cooking but... For the bulk of my working career, I worked in a factory where we had a zinc die casting department. The "pots" on die casting machines ran in the 800F range. The guys that worked in that department were known to "cook" on the pot's guards from time to time. During deer season venison tenderloin was frequent fare. The smell would waft throughout that end of the plant. Good stuff!
