I have a 2003 F-250 Lariat 6.0L PSD SD Fx4. When I turn (somewhat sharply), I notice a vibration that feels like it is coming from the weel well. It feels like the tire may be rubbing. Any thoughts?
Have you checked to make sure that the front hubs are not in the manual "lock" postion. They should be on "auto". This could create the sensation of a vibration. Does it make any noise? I tire rubbing would make a grinding type sound as it rubbed against the plastic wheel-well. Is it coming from one side or the other? You can check for tire rub against the truck by turning the wheels all the way in each direction while stopped and visually inspecting the tire clearance. Make sure nothing is hanging under the well (brakes lines, etc.) that could be interferring with the tire.
I know there is a issue with the front automatic locking hubs on this trucks not unlocking, My truck took forever to disengage after I went 4 wheelin, like 80 miles It felt like the ujoints were binding up in the front-end when i turned real sharp.
