Haynes is incomplete, you're better off locating used 1986 Ford (Shop, Factory) Truck Manuals for the Vans including chassis, elec diagrams, etc........a complete set (3-4 individual books) will set you back around $50.......
i will check ebay. so the wiring should be close? i am trying to figure out where the 4 wires go to on the nss. i probably will buy a new one, my old one is getting hard to turn and not working all the time. that and my chocke needs adjusting, make it fun to start.

While I do agree with you, I would express that a bit differently:
Haynes is incomplete and often simply wrong. You're better off guessing than using either Haynes or Chiltons. They have just enough good information to fool people into trusting them.
I'd rather not know, and know that I don't know, than to have wrong information and think that I know.
Scour eBay for whatever service manuals you're looking for---I agree Haynes and/or Chilton's are NOT the best choice. Here's what could be a great deal: 1986 E350 WSM
